In a few Aly! *click* Jessica was coming over to make plans for her annual birthday sleepover. Alyssa pulled her long black hair in a pony tail and put on some pink eyeshadow which complimented her blue eyes. *ding-dong* I got it mom its Jessica! Ok dear. Said Alyssa’s middle aged, black haired, green eyed mother. Hi Jess!

Yes but we have to many things to be doing for me to be dilly dalling around! Plus it doesn’t really hurt that I live next door! Jessica looked nice as usual with her wavy blond hair and chocolate drop eyes. And she was wearing a pink spring dress.

Alyssa sat down to watch TV in her favorite purple chair. You see Alyssa’s mom likes to decorate there house in “modern” decor, so the house was filled with colorful and strange objects. Hey mom! Alyssa shouted.

2 There’s really no sleeping at a “Sleep”over
12, 13, 14… Where’s 15? Jess I am only counting 14 do you know whe- *ding-dong* whew! Alyssa wiped her forehead for emphasis. Ok looks like everyone is here! Time to eat! Said Alyssa’s mom. For the first half hour girls where eating pizza and drinking soda’s after that the they where all so bloated they sat around and watched a movie. But after that miss “life of the party” Jessica got all the girls to play truth or dare. Ok Alyssa truth or dare? Said Molly a girl from her church.

Ok I dare you to go into your dad’s room grab one of his boxers and freeze it!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 5 years. I believe he’s going to propose next week on Christmas. Every year, I get his mother a gift. I usually spend about $20-$25. I’ll get her a candle or similar home decor item from Pier 1 or what not.
This year, I bought her a charm for her charm bracelet. It was $25. I’m feeling it’s such a little gift though. Maybe, it’s because I have a feeling we’re getting engaged and I want to give her something extra this year? I’m not sure.
But, is $25 too cheap for your future mother-in-law. I could afford to spend $50, now. But, I got into the $25 habit, when I was in college and that was all I could afford.

The christmas tree, stair case, entrance, den, colums, Flower arrangments, wreths for doors, 6″ feet garland with ligths and elaborate decor, center pieces how much do I charge? I do each home different. I personlize items. I use some of their itmes and I add to what they have. On one house I spent 2 months making decorations and 10 hours at the house putting every thing in place.

My husband and I were invited to a wedding/reception for a co-worker of his. The couple has been living together for 20 years and just recently got married. The invitation said “no gifts” and the couple didn’t register because they’re older and since they are living together already have a furnished home.
We are unable to attend the wedding, but I would like to send them a little gift as a show of support/celebration of their union. The problem is, I’ve met the lady only twice (at my husband’s company Christmas parties) and have no idea of their taste. Can anyone think of a good present that will be enjoyed by people of almost any style and taste (i.e. I have no idea if their home decor is modern or country)? My budget is the $35 - $50 range.
I think they said “no gifts” because they didn’t want people to feel obligated (they have a large guest list to their reception) and don’t feel like they need a lot because they’re not setting up a new home. However, I want to send a gift out of love and encouragement since we are unable to show support by our presence at the wedding. I’m not attempting to “second guess” them, a gift is just that, something given with no expectation of return.
I live in a mobile home that my husband and I bought a few years back. The wood paneling that it has on the walls is not terribly dark, its more of a light wood color. Problem is, I want to go with a black and white theme in our bedroom. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to change the paneling without costing me a fortune, and then…. as far as decorating! If you have any suggestions of some modern type decor that is easly made or found, or any ideas that worked well for you I would love to hear about them! Thank you!
